SUITABILITY: Leo has been fighting crime since he was fairly young, around fourteen years old. His day to day was filled with patrolling through New York with his brothers to try to stop crime or brawl with other mutants. Leo understands how to survive and keep his family alive. Even with his more outwardly jokey exterior, Leo was usually the one who tried to subtly nudge his brothers away from danger. He was the more strategic thinking amongst his brothers and could pull the proverbial strings to get his siblings to align with any plans he had in mind. His day to day was a very classic monster of the week format until the plot kicked in. Sillier adventures gave way to the turtles learning their family has a long sordid history with another ninja clan, a clan war, and fighting much bigger villains that actively wanted them dead.

The turtle's adventures escalated into aliens (Krang) being released from their prison seeking revenge. The Krang wanted to assimilate the planet, leaving the turtles struggling to keep them from succeeding. Leo's own insecurity and reluctance to take charge is what freed the Krang from their prison. This realization forced him to learn a much needed lesson about teamwork as a whole. He needs to listen to his team, to take in what they need of him instead of trying to run away from responsibility entirely.

At worst Leo could complain about LILITH, but would buckle down to help. He wants to actually make a difference in the world. Even if he isn't always going to be happy about it.

POWERS & SKILLS: I'mma break this down a bit for simplicities sake. Skills first!

SKILLS

-Bilingual: Speaks Spanish fairly fluently. Interested in learning other languages if given a shot.

-Strategic Mind: Leo has the ability to plan a few steps ahead of others once he’s gathered enough information about people's strengths and weaknesses. He tends to socially engineer situations where he can nudge other characters in place to make his grand plans unfold just how he wants them to. Even if it isn’t very “nice”, he will do what he has to in order to make a plan work how he wants it to.

-Kenjutsu: Leo was trained in a more classically Japanese swordsmanship. He can handle a single blade or two blades fairly easily. He tends to improvise and use his blade a bit more bluntly than intended.

-Ninjutsu training: stealth, some disguise abilities, improvisation, and the penchant for smoke bombs. He has a long way to go due to their fathers hesitation to teach them, but Leo is fairly quick to grasp what he does learn. He has a natural knack for ninjutsu.

-Mutation Bonus: He was made as a weapon by Baron Draxum with the intent to wipe out humanity. So, Leo is stronger, faster and more durable than an average human. Leo regularly takes on fights with other mutants thrice his size. The turtles are incredibly hard to actually kill or seriously wound. You knock 'em over, they keep getting back up. This includes plowing them through buildings, beating them to a pulp, and throwing them through space. The turtles always spring back up.

-Shell retraction: He can pop into his shell for safety. Leo can pull his head, and limbs completely into his shell. Usually only happens when Leo is actually scared.


POWERS

-Hamato Ninpo: As a member of the Hamato clan, Leo can easily tap into his clan's generational magic. When holding an object in his hand, he can use it as a base to generate a magical version of his katana. The object can range from a garden spade to a rock, just something he can grasp onto to manifest an energy katana around.

Leo can also use his thrown blade as a focus point to do teleportation. He can take himself or anyone else in contact with the blade he's holding onto to the location of the thrown blade. It covers a fairly short range. For my own personal RPer limitation, I write it as Leo needing to see where he wants his blade to go.

-Portal creation: Leo can create a portal to a different location. Both people and objects can go between portal spaces. The portals can take him from one point of New York to the Hidden City fairly easily. I personally put the limitation that he needs to be able to mentally picture the location he wants to go to go there. The show never specifies how it works beyond what the plot needs. Obvious nerf of Leo being unable to open a portal home in any regard.

NERFED POWERS:
Leo's energy manifestations of a weapon will be 30% weaker. He has a 50/50 chance of actually being able to teleport himself with a thrown blade. He's more likely to just lose a katana by tossing it than going to it.
