You're a part of everyone, Donnie! [He is trying to keep the exasperation leaking into his tone.]

You're more than capable of protecting yourselves! I- I made a choice. Not a great choice, but I'd still make it if I could protect my family.

Yeah, what a great choice?! Go and kill yourself instead of actually thinking about how that would affect your family!

[And he is going to try to jab a finger at Leo now.]

[He swats the jabbing finger aside.]

Do you seriously think I made that choice lightly? [He throws his hands in the air.] Would you prefer I just let the krang take over the damn planet!?

I'd rather have that then not have you! [He's getting worked up, and maybe it's because he's impaired but... He is most certainly tearing up.]

[Donnie actually tearing up makes Leo hesitate, some of his irritation waning.]

We live in that world, what kind of life are we gonna have if it's gone, Donnie? [The argument feels weak at best. He knows his choice wasn't... the best, but it was the right one in his mind. If he had to make it again, he would. He needed to protect his family. Needed to save the world. One life was better than everyone elses.]

It felt like the right thing to do, okay?

Better that then a life without my brother! [He snaps and wobbles a little, before he's just going to try to lean against Leo once he says that it was the right thing to do.]

[Donnie initiating contact willingly is enough to make Leo curl an arm around him. Don was not the Emotions Guy. His brother willingly doing this is... a big deal.]

Look, I'm sorry. [He would still do it. If it meant Donnie was safe, if meant their whole family could live. He would do it.] It was all I could think of at the time.

No you're not, if you were, you wouldn't have done it in the first place. [There is a slight hiccup from Donnie after he says that, and man the downsides of being a turtle rears its ugly head. He can't just bury his face against his brother easily, but damned if he won't try.

Which means Leo will be able to feel the fact that Donnie is crying.]

It felt like my only option- [He wants to argue, but already knows, it isn't helping.

He opens his mouth, then closes it. His voice catching as he changes course. Threat of tears stinging at his eyes.] Never mind, you're right. I'm not sorry I made that choice. I'm sorry I hurt you.

[Part of Donnie that is still properly sober and logically thinking? Hates this, but it is very drowned out by drunk Donnie. Who just wants to get this out, get this weight off of him that he's been holding onto since the Invasion ended.]

[And it seems the alcohol is hitting him, as he's kind of shoving himself away from Leo and bringing a hand up to his mouth. Anything he was going to say is cut short by him trying to not hurl all over his twin now.]

why are these two vomiting so much, oh my god

[Leo accepts the shove, stumbling backwards. He recognizes the hurling reaction, given he's been the vom queen this past few days.

He scrambles, grabbing a nearby trash can, shoving it into Donnie's free hand.]

[He doesn't want to vom, he really doesn't, but the trash can is shoved into his free hand and he does his best to turn away from Leo quickly so he can uh...

Expel the demons without having Leo have to see it. But there is a lot of gagging and Donnie trying to not be more sick from hearing himself being sick and being stuck in a horrible cycle.]

[Leo grimaces openly, but he's thankfully not a sympathy puker. He just reaches out to gently rub Donnie's shell with his hand.

He's trying to be So Cool Right Now, but tonight is weird. Twenty minutes ago he was dreaming of Lou Jitsu verses space pirates, now this.] Almost there, Dee.

[The shell rubbing is appreciated, even if it is done to his battle shell, as he spits and gags a little more before he's holding the trash can away from him. As if the damned thing will bite him or something.]

Ugh, urk... never again.

[Does he mean he'll never puke again or drink???]

[Leo would ask, but he can guess Donnie would want to avoid both given the chance.

Leo just takes the trashcan out of Donnie's hands, setting it aside with a grimace. He looks back to his twin.]

Sit down. I'm going to get you water.

[soft_shelled]

[he almost protests, but he is not feeling it. Also water means he can get rid of the gross feeling in his mouth.

So sit he shall!]

[Leo threateningly points at him one last time before he disappears from the room to get water. It isn't a long trip, so he returns a paper cup in hand filled with cold water.

He walks over to where Donnie is seated, holding the cup out to him.]

Here, swish your mouth out and if you use the whole cup, I'll refill.

[Donnie just sort of looks about the room, checking to see if Leo's managed in his short time here to put any personal touches on the room, while he waits.

And when Leo returns and holds out the cup? Donnie starts to reach for it with his left arm but stops himself.]

It's been actin' up, but they say that's normal? [Right hand taking the cup and taking little sips, no swishing because he ain't got anything to spit the water into and he refuses to even look at the trash can.]

[At best, Leo has managed some personalization. A poster of a Cool Action Guy with a sword taped up on one wall. A monster action figure sitting at the head of his bed. A single throw blanket with glow in the dark stars. That as far as he's gotten.]

The fact the fancy robot arm is prone to acting up leaves me questioning our benefactors.

[He's just going to tie off the trash bag, and set the back aside, gesturing for Donnie to just spit in the empty basket. He does not care right now.]

It's because the nerves and such need time to adjust, Leo.

[That is said in Donnie's "I am a huge nerd/scientist" tone of voice and is probably the most sober he's sounded thus far. And never! He refuses to spit in it, he will swallow his grossness as punishment.]

[He makes a face at the swallowing, but he won't argue. Just shaking his head a little.]

We're in a sci-fi future, they should have that down pat. Considering how many people are kinda robotic up in here...

[Flat look at Leo, like somehow even flatter than how Donnie normally looks.]

... They don't exactly have mutant turtles around, Nardo.

These people fight giant monsters semi-regularly to have it catalogued. They could've used research from that for something. [He says flatly back.]
