Your room is not even in the same direction, dingus. [He grunts as he rises from bed, kicking aside his covers. He walks over, intending to make Donnie sit down.

Then he's hit by the smell. He recoils, half ducking into his shell at the booze stink wafting off his twin.]

Why do you stink?

[soft_shelled]

I went to a party, by myself.

[He wasn't even forced to go like the other parties he's been to since he's been here!

He tries to gesture with his left arm, but it twitches awkwardly and he just barely misses hitting Leo with it. Which gets a frown out of Donnie.]

Mm, it keeps doing that. [And he's going to hit his left arm, which is probably not a good idea.]

[makesascene]

[The arm narrowly missing him makes Leo wrinkle his snout a little, but he doesn't comment on it. The loss of Donnie's arm was all his fault, so, he was trying to not think deeply on it.]

And you drank, okay. [He can guess from the smell and the way his brother is talking.] How about you chill here with me for a while?

[soft_shelled]

[Look, Leo should be happy Donnie actually went and got the cybernetic arm to replace it instead of suffering without. Even with the weird side effects, which will hopefully go away.]

It was at a bar, so yeah... Yeah. [He hums, and really Leo should also remind him he's still wearing his humansona soon.] Sure, I can do that.

[makesascene]

To be honest, I kind of assumed I'd rebel and drink before you did. [He jokes, not that any of the turtles were that interested in it. They had other stuff to do.

He ignores the booze stink, herding his brother over to sit down on his bed.] Still in your disguse, nerd boy. You gonna keep wearing it?

[soft_shelled]

[He is herded towards the bed, and he just kind of bonelessly flops onto it instead of sitting like a normal person would. No reaction to Leo's joke, as he owlishly looks at his twin mentioning the disguise.]

Oh, oh yeah... Lemme just...

[And after a minute or so, back to turtle.]

You gonna stay here if I go get you water? [If Donnie wanders off, who knows just where he'll end up.]

I think you should probably stay over for the night, Dee.

[soft_shelled]

I don't have anywhere else to go, dum dum. [Which is basically him being okay with this situation, as his gaze settles on his cybernetic left arm now.

... Which looking at it somehow just pisses him off, as he frowns.]

... I hate you.

[The words just come out.]

Okay, ouch. [Yeah, that did in fact hurt his feelings, but... he can't exactly argue.

He's done nothing useful here. First big set of missions and he maims his brother. The guilt is an uncomfortable weight pulling him down. He laughs weakly.] It's okay though, I hate me too. So, we're even, yeah?

[soft_shelled]

Not. Not because of my arm! [He's a bit loud there, whoops. But he totally assumes that is what Leo means, in his drunken state.]

Because, because you think you don't matter.

[makesascene]

[This is not where he expected the fight to go. He stalls for a second, eye ridges pinching together.]

What-? Where are you getting that from?

[soft_shelled]

Back home! How, how quickly you decided to just do that!

[And he is going to try to stand up, which is not going to go well at all.]

[Give him a second to process that, since he was not expecting this sudden swerve of topics.]

Look, I was trying to- find a way to just save everyone, alright?

Well, fuck everyone!

[He's up in his feet, and he is wobbly from being drunk.]

And and... maybe you wouldn't have had to think that way if I was actually fucking capable of protecting myself and Mikey!

[makesascene]

You're a part of everyone, Donnie! [He is trying to keep the exasperation leaking into his tone.]

You're more than capable of protecting yourselves! I- I made a choice. Not a great choice, but I'd still make it if I could protect my family.

[soft_shelled]

Yeah, what a great choice?! Go and kill yourself instead of actually thinking about how that would affect your family!

[And he is going to try to jab a finger at Leo now.]

[He swats the jabbing finger aside.]

Do you seriously think I made that choice lightly? [He throws his hands in the air.] Would you prefer I just let the krang take over the damn planet!?

[soft_shelled]

I'd rather have that then not have you! [He's getting worked up, and maybe it's because he's impaired but... He is most certainly tearing up.]

I don't give a shit about the world!

[makesascene]

[Donnie actually tearing up makes Leo hesitate, some of his irritation waning.]

We live in that world, what kind of life are we gonna have if it's gone, Donnie? [The argument feels weak at best. He knows his choice wasn't... the best, but it was the right one in his mind. If he had to make it again, he would. He needed to protect his family. Needed to save the world. One life was better than everyone elses.]

It felt like the right thing to do, okay?

[soft_shelled]

Better that then a life without my brother! [He snaps and wobbles a little, before he's just going to try to lean against Leo once he says that it was the right thing to do.]

Well you were wrong, it was a stupid thing to do.

[makesascene]

[Donnie initiating contact willingly is enough to make Leo curl an arm around him. Don was not the Emotions Guy. His brother willingly doing this is... a big deal.]

Look, I'm sorry. [He would still do it. If it meant Donnie was safe, if meant their whole family could live. He would do it.] It was all I could think of at the time.

[soft_shelled]

No you're not, if you were, you wouldn't have done it in the first place. [There is a slight hiccup from Donnie after he says that, and man the downsides of being a turtle rears its ugly head. He can't just bury his face against his brother easily, but damned if he won't try.

Which means Leo will be able to feel the fact that Donnie is crying.]

You're not allowed to do that, ever again.

[makesascene]

It felt like my only option- [He wants to argue, but already knows, it isn't helping.

He opens his mouth, then closes it. His voice catching as he changes course. Threat of tears stinging at his eyes.] Never mind, you're right. I'm not sorry I made that choice. I'm sorry I hurt you.

Okay, I- okay.

[Part of Donnie that is still properly sober and logically thinking? Hates this, but it is very drowned out by drunk Donnie. Who just wants to get this out, get this weight off of him that he's been holding onto since the Invasion ended.]

[And it seems the alcohol is hitting him, as he's kind of shoving himself away from Leo and bringing a hand up to his mouth. Anything he was going to say is cut short by him trying to not hurl all over his twin now.]

why are these two vomiting so much, oh my god

[Leo accepts the shove, stumbling backwards. He recognizes the hurling reaction, given he's been the vom queen this past few days.

He scrambles, grabbing a nearby trash can, shoving it into Donnie's free hand.]
